Brooklyn born, New York native, Al-Karim  has worked in the fields of Music, Fashion and Entertainment for over 35 years.   During this time he has trained models, assisted in developing new designers and worked with numerous recording artist and celebrities in the capacity of artist development director, manager, consultant and advisor.

Al-Karim has had the unique privilege of building the first wardrobe department for Black Entertainment Television (BET), where he worked as the FIRST fashion stylist for all on-air personalities and performing guest under the tut-ledge of Llewellyn Jenkins.   While there, he also worked for the Children’s and Entertainment Television division.

As a visual merchandiser, he has created scenes, set designs and campaigns for stores such as Macy’s, The Hecht Company, Benetton and many smaller boutiques.

Over the years he has perfected his talents of music, photography, make-up artistry and fashion styling.  He attended Howard University with a concentration in music and is a graduate of the world-renowned, Parsons School of Design with a certification in Fashion Design.  

Currently, he is building his clothing brand, www.americankouture.com …creating his signature line. He has also been tapped to be the head of wardrobe/hair/make-up/accessories design for several tv/film projects waiting on a green light.
